Mishmar Program

A Message from Rav Natan

The thing I love most about our Mishmar program is the opportunity to learn together outside of the classroom. I want our students to live and breathe Torah and Judaism, not just in school but in everything they do. Providing opportunities for Torah learning lishma (for its own sake) is an essential part of developing a love for Torah and mitzvot in our students and children, one of our goals here at BMA.

Learning outside the classroom, in a Beit Midrash environment, enables students to develop a relationship with Torah disconnected from school, grades and the structure of their day. Additionally, Mishmar provides a powerful opportunity for parents and children to connect through Torah while the tradition is passed from one generation to the next.

Weekly Mishmar for Elementary School Students (3rd-5th grade)
Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the lunchroom
5th grade will learn Mishna (Masechet Megillah) with Rabbi Jeiger.
3rd and 4th grades will learn Pirkei Avot with Rav Natan.
Both groups will be making a Siyum at the end of the year.

Weekly Mishmar for Middle School Students (6th-8th grade)*
Monday nights from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the lunchroom
Join us weekly to learn various Mishnayot.

Monthly Family Mishmar for 3rd-8th graders and their families*
1st Monday of Every Month, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
3rd-5th grade and their parents will learn in the gym with Rabbi Jeiger.
6th-8th grade and their families will learn in the lunchroom with Rav Natan.
Family Mishmar will feature prizes, dinner, a Kahoot game, and an evening of parent-child learning.

Kindergarten Family Mishmar
Wednesdays November 20 and March 4
More info will be sent directly to Kindergarten families.

*Middle School students are able to earn TLC hours for Mishmar learning.
