Bar/Bat Mitzvah & Hanachat Tefilin Date Request
Dear Parents,We are pleased to announce the creation of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah calendar. The calendar will be managed by BMA with the goal of maintaining an organized system for parents to inform the BMA community of their child’s Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Please note that this is a service for parents to plan their simchas and we ask parents to communicate with each other should a conflict in date arise. This is separate from the PTA-sponsored school calendar that is printed at the beginning of the year. It is also separate from the calendars that are managed by Shuls. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:
- Dates are added to the calendar on a first-come, first-served basis
- Either the whole grade should be invited to a party or all the boys/girls in the grade
- Parties on the same day are not considered a conflict, as long as they do not overlap in time
- If a Bar Mitzvah & Bat Mitzvah overlap, they are not considered a conflict as long as only the same gender is invited to each party
- Two Bar Mitzvahs from boys in different grades or two Bat Mitzvahs from girls in different grades are not considered a conflict
- Bar/Bat Mitzvah sweatshirts may not be worn in school
