We are excited to welcome Rabbi Yossi Kahan to the BMA team for the 2018 – 2019 school year, as the Middle School Principal. Rabbi Kahan brings with him a mission to make Jewish Day Schools communal places of learning and growth. He believes that education delivered with warmth and relevance is key to our children’s future success and their commitment to a meaningful Torah-infused life.
It was clear from those that met with Rabbi Yossi Kahan, that given his successful track record of leading curriculum development, data-driven classroom design, and effective teacher coaching, he would be an excellent fit for BMA. Rabbi Kahan brings a sophisticated balance of warmth and professionalism to our school.
Rabbi Kahan studied at the Machon L’Semikha L’Rabanut in Israel and pursued his BA at the Rabbinical College of America, and an M.Ed. in Teacher Leadership at Brandeis University. He is a current fellow of the Day School Leadership Institute which is nationally recognized for preparing elite school leaders. Rabbi Kahan is a progressive and innovative educator and has trained at The Alvo Institute for Blended Learning. His achievements in the field have earned him several accolades including the Linda R. Kaminow Visionary Leadership Award which honors educators who embody commitment to excellence in Jewish Education. Rabbi Kahan currently resides in Boca Raton with his wife Devorah and their seven children.
